CHASKA-NJAWI

Bachelor collection 2011. I got the inspiration on a trip to the Andes in Southern Peru. I was very impressed by the Qero people living high up in the mountains. They believe in mountain spirits and make offerings to them, as a blessing they have animals and food in return. Up till now they keep on living according old Inca rituals. It resulted in a colorful collection in which I used natural materials. The hair pieces are made of alpaca hair and the boots are knitted. The prints are inspired on the Quechua textiles and their weaving symbols. I used silk crepe, cotton satin and jersey all printed by Print Unlimited.
