In 2010 I finished my studies Fashion Print Design with a fabric collection called 'Afspelen: middag'. The title refers to the conscious choice of how to experience the day - fast forward or at ease.

The collection is about the modern world where everyone is exposed to a constant stream of information, images and impressions. To maintain peace and tranquility one most create his own balans in the chaos he or she is faced with everyday. I have used several metaphors which refer to chaos ( for example abstract letters and crinkled newspapers) or tranquility (elements of nature, waves, flowers and pictures from my childhood). To create the perfect balans very graphical prints are combined with more flowing, handdrawn prints, and I also used the effect of mirroring. The bright colour combination, the use of high quality fabrics and experimenting with materials and technics such as weaving and embroidery resulted in a moden, luxurious collection.
